One of the greatest lessons I have learned during my years in Nicaragua is that every person has a story.
Some stories are filled with joy.
Others are marked by struggle, loss, or unexpected change.
Most of them remain untold until someone takes the time to listen.
When I first arrived in León, I knew almost no one. Every face was a stranger, every conversation an opportunity to learn something new.
Over the years, those conversations became friendships.
I learned about families, dreams, disappointments, and hopes for the future.
Some of those stories eventually found their way into my books.
Others simply became part of my own journey.
Looking back, I realize that the greatest gift was never just telling my story.
It was having the privilege of hearing the stories of others.
Listening has a way of changing us.
It teaches compassion.
It builds understanding.
It reminds us that every person we meet is carrying experiences we cannot see.
Sometimes the best way to show God's love is not by having all the right answers, but by giving someone the opportunity to be heard.
Everyone has a story.
And every story has value.
