WE NEVER KNOW WHO NEEDS ENCOURAGEMENT
Steve Hartwig and his longtime friend Rolando during Steve's recovery. Sometimes encouragement flows both ways. We never know how God will use a friendship to strengthen both lives.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 📖 Hebrews 10:24
Encouragement doesn't always come in dramatic moments.
Sometimes it is simply a smile.
A kind word.
A phone call.
Taking time to listen.
Or reminding someone that they matter.
The interesting thing about encouragement is that we rarely know when it is most needed.
A conversation that seems ordinary to us may become unforgettable to someone else.
I have experienced this many times during my years in Nicaragua.
There were days when I thought I was encouraging someone else, only to discover later that they had encouraged me even more.
Friendships have a way of doing that.
When we invest in other people, God often blesses both lives.
We don't always see the results immediately.
Sometimes we never know the difference a small act of kindness has made.
But God knows.
He can use the simplest moments to strengthen someone who was beginning to lose hope.
We don't have to change the whole world.
Sometimes we only need to encourage the person standing right in front of us.
That simple act may become part of a much bigger story than we ever imagined.
