GOD IS STILL WRITING THE STORY

When we look back on our lives, it is often easy to identify the chapters that changed everything.

A move to a new city.

A new friendship.

A challenge that tested our faith.

An opportunity we never expected.

When I first arrived in Nicaragua, I thought I was beginning a simple chapter called retirement. I was looking forward to a warmer climate, a slower pace of life, and the opportunity to enjoy the years ahead.

I had no plans to become an author.

I had no idea that I would one day write books inspired by the people and experiences I found here.

I certainly did not imagine becoming friends with local skateboarders, sharing their stories, or seeing those experiences become part of a novel.

Yet that is often how God works.

We think we understand the chapter we are entering, but God is already preparing chapters we cannot yet see.

Looking back, I can see many moments that seemed ordinary at the time. Conversations. Friendships. Walks through the city. Small opportunities that appeared without much fanfare.

Each one became part of a larger story.

And that story is still being written.

Sometimes we are tempted to believe that the most meaningful chapters are behind us.

But God is not only the God of our past.

He is also the God of our future.

The same God who guided us through previous chapters continues to guide us today.

There are still people to meet.

Still lessons to learn.

Still opportunities to serve.

Still pages to write.

We may not know exactly what comes next, but we can trust the One who does.

Because God is still writing the story.
